Sewall is a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt nonprofit. As such, it is our mission to provide high-quality services to all children. We do not turn families away based on their child’s needs or ability to pay.
Sewall provides early education and therapeutic supports for young children (birth through 6 years) of all abilities through a continuum of programs.
In 2016, Sewall provided inclusive, high-quality preschool directly to 670 children. Approximately 300 children received services through our home visits, toddler classrooms, D&E Clinic, and a variety of other services. Sewall staff members also provide disability services for Denver’s Head Start programs, providing consultation services to teachers, and as needed, hundreds more children and their families with services in their Head Start classrooms.
How do we fulfill our mission?
Sewall is staffed by a dedicated team (71 full-time and 24 part-time) who collaborate with 45 agencies in the region.
We pursue our work with an unwavering commitment to excellence and an uncommon passion for children.
We embrace differences, bringing children of all abilities and backgrounds together to create an inclusive, diverse learning environment. Here, children learn that we are all really alike – even if some of us have different abilities.
We focus on the development of the whole child. Our transdisciplinary approach means that a team of experts work together to support all aspects of a child’s development – including motor skills, speech, language, cognitive and social-emotional development.
We utilize only developmentally appropriate practices and maintain rigorous standards so that we consistently provide the highest quality programs and services.
We create extraordinary partnerships with parents and families, so that we are working together to meet the individual needs of every child.
